The new album 'Afterglow' is out today

It's almost five years since I released my debut album Dýrð í dauðaþögn in my home country Iceland. Never would I have thought of what life then had in store for me. Back in 2015 after constant touring and traveling the world over and over again I finally started working on my second album. I would be lying if I wouldn't say it was tough at times...really tough. The pressure was high and I felt it, not just from other people but also myself. The turning point of the album was when I went to stay with my mom in my old hometown and worked with my father on a few songs. That's when I gained peace and it felt like the album all came together after that. Afterglow is out today. I'm really proud of it and I hope it will make the world just a little bit nicer.

Behind the Track 'Afterglow'

With just a week to go until the release of my album 'Afterglow' here's a little video I want to share with you.

While I was working on the album I went to stay with my mom in my hometown. It's a short story about the place where I grew up and the influence it has on my music, an old piano, working with my father, afterglow and getting my old self back.

New Track Afterglow Out Today

The title track to my album ‘Afterglow’ is out today. It was written in my hometown with my father. I wrote the song and then he wrote the lyrics.

It felt like a turning point in the album process, as I had a clearer image of what I wanted the album to sound like after making the song. Although months later I had other ideas as well - more electronic ideas - and that’s why the album is on one side acoustic and on the other more electronic. I hope you enjoy it.
